  2. I haven't listened to it in a long time, but I have an off-the-air cassette recording of a Boston radio station interview of JR from the mid-70s. In that interview, he sings a song a capella that I have never heard anywhere else and can't find using a lyrics or title search or similar tool. I am GUESSING that the title is "Boston, Boston, USA" or something like that. Some of what I remember goes like this:

I know a girl from Mattapan
    (Boston, Boston, USA)
She goes up the hills and then down again.
    (Boston, Boston, USA)

I like to drive up Blue Hill Ave.
    (Boston, Boston, USA)
And run all over Boston with the legs that I have.

    Boston-on-on, USA.
    Hay, hay, hay.
    Boston-on-on, USA.

(He might have had a guitar but I don't remember him playing it for that song. I think he might have been thumping on the body, more like a drum beat.)

IS THERE AN EMAIL CONTACT ADDRESS ON THIS SITE? If I can find the cassette, is there a place to send it? Do people actually recognize the song and can you provide a title / link to it? Advice, please.

  3. Hey! This is nugrape, one of the admins here (I also run icecoldnugrape.com).
Your tape sounds VERY interesting! I do not recognize that song. If you send me the tape I could make it available for all to hear (and send the tape back to you, as it sounds very rare and special).

    I'm at jonathandavidbrink @ gmail.com
